What is an NVite on Naukri?
By Nitin Panwar, former AVP of GenAI at Naukri.com · Updated 3 November 2026
An NVite is an invitation from a recruiter on Naukri to apply for a specific job, sent because your profile matched their search. It arrives as a Naukri email and notification with the job title and location. NVites are the clearest signal of which roles recruiters see you for.
What an NVite tells you
Each NVite names a role. Read ten of them together: if most are for the role you want, your profile is working. If they're for a different role, or a more junior one, your headline and skills are matching the wrong searches.
How to respond
- Reply quickly to the ones that fit; recruiters work through lists.
- Decline politely or ignore the ones that don't; there's no penalty for not applying.
- If the same wrong role keeps coming, fix the profile rather than the replies.
NVite vs "took action on your profile"
"Took action on your profile" means a recruiter viewed your profile or downloaded your CV. An NVite means they want you to apply to a specific job. Both come by email; GetJobCalls counts both, but only NVites and messages count as recruiters reaching out.
Questions people ask
- Are NVites real recruiters?
- They come from recruiters and companies using Naukri's recruiter tools. As with any job contact, check the company before sharing personal documents.
- Why do I get NVites for jobs I'm not qualified for?
- Your profile contains words those searches use. Tightening your headline and key skills reduces mismatched NVites.
