Auto-apply on Naukri vs getting found by recruiters: which gets more calls?
By Nitin Panwar, former AVP of GenAI at Naukri.com · Updated 3 November 2026
Auto-apply tools send many applications for you, which saves time but adds to piles recruiters rarely read in full. Most interview calls on Naukri come from recruiters searching the resume database and reaching out first. In our view, fix how you show up in those searches first; apply selectively, by hand or with a tool, once your profile is the one recruiters pick.
What auto-apply tools do
AI auto-apply tools connect to your job portal accounts, find postings that match your CV, sometimes tailor the CV per job, and submit applications on a schedule. Some ask you to approve each one; some run on their own.
They solve a real problem: applying by hand is slow and repetitive. If you need volume across many openings, they save hours.
Why more applications don't always mean more calls
- A popular posting can collect hundreds of applications. Recruiters often skim the pile, then go to the resume database and search instead.
- An application carries your profile with it. If your headline and key skills don't match the role, more applications just mean more rejections.
- Mass-applied profiles can look unfocused: applications across very different roles weaken the signal of what you do.
- Tools that log in as you hold access to your portal account. Read what they store and check the portal's terms before connecting one.
What getting found looks like instead
Recruiters type a title and skills, filter by experience, location and notice period, and contact the profiles at the top. Naukri tells you when this happens: NVites and "took action on your profile" emails. LinkedIn shows search appearances.
Getting found means making those searches return you: the market title in your headline, the right key skills first, a recently updated profile and honest filters. One fix to your profile works on every search, every day, without sending a single application.
A sensible order
- Measure first: count your recruiter invites and messages for the last 30 days, and note which roles they were for.
- If they're few or for the wrong roles, fix the profile: headline, key skills, summary, CV.
- Watch the count for two to four weeks.
- Then apply selectively to the roles you want most, with a CV tailored to each. Use a tool for this if it saves you time, and review what it sends.
Where GetJobCalls fits
GetJobCalls doesn't apply for you and never logs in to your portal accounts. It reads your Naukri and LinkedIn notification emails (read-only), shows how many recruiters found you and for which roles, and gives you the exact fixes. If your recruiter invites and messages don't go up in 30 days, you get your money back.
Questions people ask
- Is auto-apply allowed on Naukri?
- Check Naukri's current terms of use before connecting any tool that logs in or applies as you. Applying yourself, or fixing your profile, carries no such question.
- Can recruiters tell an application was auto-applied?
- Not always, but generic, untailored applications to roles that don't fit are easy to spot and easy to skip, however they were sent.
- Should I stop applying altogether?
- No. Apply to the roles you really want. The point is that a profile recruiters find brings calls you never applied for, so fix that first.
